The Lord is showing me more and more that we are far more than project doers. We bring the presence and glory of God to people struggling to survive.
The last two days at the 2 Fish feeding program were amazing. Tim Schloesser, a prayer warrior and a member of our Advisory Board was with me here in Mexico. On Tuesday at 2 Fish, there were about 70 men there and Noe, who runs the program, was not there that day. Tim thought I should preach, so I asked Margarita if I could preach. She lit up and said “You want to preach, sure that would be great.”
So Margarita introduced me, I preached in Spanish before the meal for a short time and she did a wrap up. Quite a few men came to the Lord that day and the next. We passed out many Gospels of John and many men asked for prayer.
There were several men with severe physical needs. A young man from Honduras was there in Mexico looking for work. He had been hit by a train in an accident and had bad wounds to his left arm and hip. Later we met Francisco, a 35 year old with a family who had been in a car accident and his left foot is twisted and unable to bear weight. We also saw the mother of a family we have adopted, who had what looked like two fractures in her right forearm from an accident.
I have been touched by people we have met this trip and the last in Costa Rica who need the help of the Lord and have no other resources. They have no transportation and access to doctors and medical help. They have no money for such things.
We prayed for the single mother of 6 on three different days when we saw her. After the first day, she came up to us and said her arm was better. Holding it out in faith, she asked us to pray some more.
The third day we saw her she did the same thing and said there was now only a little bit of pain above the wrist and we could see that it had changed noticeably.
The Lord is teaching us to be bolder in all we do for Him. As Peter prayed in Acts 4, “enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. Stretch out your hand to heal and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”
