Brothers and sisters in Christ,

We received some pictures from a shoe giveaway we did in the end of February and you can see the joy in so many kids’ eyes, I thought what a blessing it is to work with Margot. Her love for God and others made me think about the strong women in the Bible and what amazing stories the women around me are writing.received_1680726202214774

Margot’s love for God led her to devote her life to kids in need in Central America. One of the projects Margot works on is to care for children at risk and young single mothers right outside San Salvador. They are single in many cases because the men have had to leave the country to look for work and/or because of the gang problems.

We provide food and clothes as shoes, things needed to live. Our contributions help to provide food and vitamins in three different communities for more than 200 kids every week. Margot also leads two education programs for children. These education programs focus on basic skills and one is for children from 8 to 12 years old, the other is for children from 13 to 18 years old.received_1680725468881514

I was thinking that day, that there are three women from the Bible Margot reminds me of. She submitted herself to God’s will, just like Mary of Nazareth, the Mother of Jesus did. In Luke 1:38, he says – “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled” … I wonder sometimes, how strong we must be to accept the unknown and keep walking through life with the certainty that God is there with us. Mary modeled an attitude of obedience and trust and Margot is following her example.

However, sometimes is so hard to do what God calls us to do instead of what we want. And Margot made me think of Ruth and her vow to Naomi.   “Do not urge me to leave you or to return from following you. For where you go I will go, and where you lodge I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God my God” Ruth 1:16. How often do we recognize that God wants us to help, stand beside, and not give up on somebody as if we were helping Him?

At the same time, I see all of the blessings in Margot’s life and it made me think about how waiting on the Lord often brings unexpected blessings and the story of Elizabeth: Mother of John the Baptist. She was a righteous woman who was never blessed with a child. I am sure she felt undeserving but God knew her humble heart and blessed her to give birth to John the Baptist, whom Jesus called the greatest of all men (Matthew 11:11). Even though we don’t always see it, we might be a blessing for somebody around us, and this is what Margot does.

Help us continue provide support for Margot’s work and all of these 200 kids in El Salvador.

Blessings,

Cam
