Dear Friends and Fellow Lovers of God,

As you may remember, we started working on a Community Center in Puerto Penasco, Mexico in 2018.

At first, we had a facility that we were renting for a small amount of money each month.  We patiently waited on God and Pastor Manuel also used his residence, which he rents, for many smaller events.  Then last May we had an event in one of the Penasco parks, which the City let us use.  We had over 100 kids for that event and Manuel had a fantastic team of over 20 adults who were very organized and had a lot of experience with youth ministry.  The AVC name is now known by many all over the city.

We continued to wait on God and look around at the City and some different opportunities.  We then found a property on the edge of Nueva Esperanza Colonia, the New Hope neighborhood.  This is the perfect neighborhood for us to be in.  There are many needy families there and it also is very close to the new Colonia where the government has relocated people who were squatting by the railroad tracks.  It is also right next to where Pastor Manuel lives and he, of course, knows many people there.    Finally, it is very close to where I stay in Penasco and Max, a young follower of Christ, who helps me and Pastor Manuel with many things.

We have been able to reach an agreement to buy the property for $7,000, which is a very good price.  It has two partially completed buildings on it, with good foundations and walls.  One building is two stories with the lower level usable now.  Both need a roof.  Pastor Manuel and Phillipe, a brother who works with Manuel, have already been able to start cleaning up the property.  They are very excited and have already put up an AVC sign.  Phillipe is currently staying there as a grounds keeper until the property is secured.  It is almost entirely fenced around but some areas and the front need some work to make it secure.  w

New Property

We estimate that we will need to spend about $15,000 in the next year or two bringing the property up to a level to be used for all that we want to do there.  Some of the first things will be to gate and secure the front of the property and upgrade and expand the bathroom in the back corner of the property which is basically an outhouse now.  Manuel has a team of men who will assist and provide a lot of the labor for the upgrade projects.

We need to raise about $22,000 for this project and need about $12,000 by November to buy the property and begin some work.  Please pray for us as we undertake this project.

We have received a matching grant that will match dollar for dollar money that we raise for this project (and a few other minor ones such as $3,000.00 for counseling at the Nicaragua center in the next year) up to $11,000.00.  So, we are trying to raise $11,000.00 in September and October.  Any donation will help!

Thanks for partnering with us in this ministry and this project, which will be our fourth Community Center.

May you feel the Lords Peace, Joy and Love,

Cameron
