Dear Friends,

After a brief delay in construction of the Penasco Mexico Community Center due to extreme heat this late summer and the caretaker having Covid, Pastor Manuel has a great team that has now finished all the security walls around the Center and is also doing the finish work on the bathrooms.

Also, and more importantly, as I was praying about our starting some more regular events at the Center, I saw in prayer a young couple in their 20ths that would be the key to getting the Center going with regular outreach in the Colonia.  On my last visit 2 weeks ago, Pastor Manuel informed me that a young couple named Luis and Viviana have just moved from outside the town to a place very near the Center in the same Colonia and have committed to working with the Center.  We are praising God for this.

Although Luis works in construction, both he and his wife have extensive training in child education. They are in their mid-twenties and have two wonderful young girls who are 5 and almost 3.  This will be great as they begin to work at the Center part time. Luis is already helping with the construction and they are getting to know our team and people in the neighborhood.

We are also helping with a new project in Jinotega, Nicaragua.  We have worked there for many years as Arturo Castro, our Director in Nicaragua and Central America has been working for many years in this region and we have helped plant several other churches.  A church is needed in this area and Arturo and a local pastor have found a suitable lot that the owners desire to have used for a church.  For this reason, although the lot is worth about $8000 the owners are willing to sell it for $5000.  Arturo and the pastor have raised $2000 already.  We have committed to give $3000 to help obtain the land and get this project started.

I am retiring from the practice of law at the end of this month and will be devoting more time to the AVC ministry.  I consider it a privilege to be able to do this. We will maintain a small office for AVC and so we will be moving the office on December 1st.  The Lord rapidly provided a great space that we are excited about at an affordable price so we will make this move soon and be working on closing out yet another year where the Lord has continued to provide and lead our team by HIS Spirit as we continue to expand the Kingdom and give His children hope and equipping to be used by Him in the future.
