Brothers and sisters in Christ,
The other day a friend sent me this quote “Leave room for God to surprise you!” by Ernie K. It made me think about disappointments and life heartbreaks. We often tend to doubt God’s love according to our current circumstances. But if we look at somebody else’s life is so easy to see and say – God answers prayer and He will always do what is best for me (Matthew 7:7-11). But when it comes to us we tend to forget that nothing “will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:39). Our own doubts and fears don’t let us trust that God may have something different in store for us. Even more, “now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us” (Ephesians 3:20). Sometimes, God needs to open our eyes so we can see this immeasurably more for our lives.
Look at Moses – “Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” and God said, “I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you” (Exodus 3:11-12). We should always remind ourselves that the source of your abilities is God not your own power, because God’s power can be shown in my weakness. And this is “his very great and precious promises, He has given us” (2 Peter 1:4). It gives us the strengths to be in the light no matter the day-to-day problems, because this is what it means to live in the Spirit and overcome the world. Therefore, even though we can only know the present moment, when we worry about future wants and past disappointments, we don’t leave room in ourselves for the present. If we can let God and trust Him to take care of the future and will allow ourselves to live our today the best, we can right. Living in the present and sharing love and completion with the people around us is all God called us to do.
Heavenly Father, help us see the way You see and do as You say. Protect us from evil and guide us to the people You created us to be. Let us see above what we can measure and believe that immeasurably more is possible for us thought You.
