Dear Brothers and Sisters,

We are thanking the Lord for a marvelous time of ministry in Mexico.   The plans changed somewhat as the pastor of the main church we were partnering with is going through some difficult family and marriage issues.   I was able to meet with him and pray over him. We hold the plans loosely as the Lord is always in charge and we have learned that He has plans which are higher than ours.

We were able to minister to the kids and family in the Colonia, the new barrio outside of town where the government moved the people who had been squatting by the railroad tracks for years. We also distributed bags of food to the family.   We also spent a day at the Esperanza orphanage, bringing food as well.   We had a spirited soccer game with the kids, some of whom are older and very good, until Giovanni Mora of Costa Rica and I were worn down. Giovanni is fantastic with the kids as he spent much of his time in ministry in youth work, before becoming the senior pastor at the Sendero de Luz church. Giovanni, Pastor Joelle Suel of Denver and I all shared a brief message to encourage and inspire the kids. We then had a great time of prayer, blessing and praying over each child there.

I was also very glad that we were able to minister much in the Penasco Fellowship church as it is going through difficult changes with an interim pastor due to the pastor’s problems. I preached the first Sunday and Pastor Joelle preached the second Sunday. Again, the Holy Spirit came in a mighty way and the whole congregation came forward for an extended time of prayer at the end of the service. We were also able to help the church and interim pastor and his wife with food bags for outreach they are doing.

God is good and we see Him moving all the time. It is a privilege to let Him lead and to glorify His name!

Jesus is bigger than we think…

In Will Farrell’s movie Talladega Nights, he plays NASCAR race driver Ricky Bobby.   When Ricky Bobby prays at Thanksgiving dinner for his family, he begins by saying “Sweet baby Jesus, 8 lbs 5 ounces”, to which his wife replies “he’s not a baby anymore.

Lots of us still think of Jesus as the baby coming into our world, or the suffering servant who died on the cross. He is in heaven and neither of those any longer.   In fact, Revelation 19 says He rides a white horse commanding the armies of heaven. On His head are many crowns and He wears a robe dipped in blood and His name is the Word of God. And on His robe and on His thigh He has this name written:         KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS

Not only that, but He is doing much more than we think.   John 14:6 says Jesus said “I am the way, and the truth and life.   No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Sometimes church people think that means you have to say the right creed with the right words but Jesus is bigger than that. He is saving people who don’t even know his name.

Robert Wise tells of a powerful story I like very much. He has served ministering to the dying for most of his ministry as a pastor.   While living in southern California, he was called to the hospital to minister to a 7 year old girl dying of cancer and her parents who were from Mexico.   He speaks Spanish but could not understand the parents who were from an Indian tribe in Mexico near the Copper Canyon. But the little girl who was born in Arizona spoke perfect Spanish.   She told him she was in a lot of pain and she dosed in and out of sleep. She said she liked being asleep better because she was seeing beautiful flying creatures and there was a man who was her friend.   Mr. Wise asked her if she had ever been to church. No she replied, she did not even know what church was.   He explained to her about God sending His son, Jesus, to the earth. He told her that he thought the creatures she was seeing were angels and that the man was Jesus.

She fell asleep and when she woke again she said that he was right. The man was named Jesus and he told her she only had to be awake one more time and then she would go with him. Very shortly after, she died very peacefully with a smile on her face.

Yes, Jesus is saving people who don’t even know of Him.   He is that BIG, that LOVING and that POWERFUL!

Please remember A Voice for Children in your year end giving. We could not reach over 4,000 children per month without your prayers and support. We are praying to be able to impact 5000 kids per month in 2017!

From our family to yours Happy Thanksgiving!

May you feel the Lord’s blessings and joy every day,

Cam
