Dear Friends and Donors,
We are praying for our ministry partners in Mexico, Costa Rica and the rest of Central America. As Giovanni Mora, our associate in Costa Rica, told me recently “even though we have hardly any cases of Corona virus our economy is shut down.” There are no tourists so no flights and work at the airport. No one is at the hotels so no work there. Our restaurants are shut down, there is no Uber. Many people are out of work. And many of our people live day to day so when there is no work, the families have very little to eat. Pastor Manuel from Penasco, Mexico has told me the same thing recently.
Here are some photos of the work in Costa Rica where they are distributing food and other items to kids and families to help in this time and as Giovanni says “to be Jesus to these people and feed them and meet their needs physically and spiritually.”
In Mark 4, Jesus calms the storm
after the disciples awaken him and ask “Teacher, don’t you care if we
drown?” After Jesus rebukes the wind and
tells the waves to Be Still, he asks the disciples 2 questions.
Why are you so fearful? And How is it that you have no faith?
Theses are the same 2 questions that God will ask us in this time. Many are living this time in fear but we are children of God and called to live by faith. We have many promises of God and we must keep them in the forefront of our minds and spirits. God is our Shepard and provider. He will take care of us and provide. He will even bless us with times of slowing down and reorienting to a healthier balance and use of time. May He give us the wisdom to be more present with Him and those around us in this time.
Please pray for the poor in Central America and the many kids that are hungry.
Many Blessings,
Cameron
