A Voice for Children, International supports Sonrise School in Rwanda. Several directors have provided support to this project for more than 10 years now.
In the fall of 2005, the first shipment of used computers arrived in Musanze, Rwanda. The first task was to teach the teachers. Very few teachers had ever touched a keyboard. All of the initial resources were focused on building infrastructure to sustain a long term program.
Today, the school has over 350 new computers, 400 Nook book readers, 4 Promethean Smart Boards, projectors, laptops for all of the teachers and a dedicated IT staff. The entire school embraces technology and after graduation students often become leaders in their community.
